Move-Out Checklist

We Know Moving Can Be a Hectic Time, So Here is a Checklist to Keep You Organized!

  1. Submit Your Formal Move Out Notice

You are required to submit a 60 days written notice.

Please submit your request through the resident portal with your move-out date.

Your move-out can be before the end of the lease (if desired) but no later than noon on the lease end date.

  2. Send Us Your Forwarding Address For Your Security Deposit

Please provide a complete forwarding address through the resident portal to receive your security deposit refund via check.

Please note, refunds cannot be picked up in person or processed without a forwarding address.

  3. Complete Your Change of Address With The Post Office

To make sure you continue to get your important mail at your new address, complete the steps to forward your mail through USPS by using this link: Standard Forward Mail & Change of Address link

  4. Transfer Your Utilities

Reminder: Utilities must be left on for the move-out inspection so if the move-out day falls on a holiday or weekend, schedule to stop service the next business day.

  5. Maximize Your Security Deposit Refund

Review paragraph 17 & 18 of your lease agreement for what is considered your responsibility for the property’s upkeep. You can find a copy of your lease in the documents section of your resident portal.

Review this Cleaning and Property Condition Expectations checklist to ensure you receive most of your deposit back.

Review this Wear and Tear vs Damages document to understand what deductions may be taken from your security deposit.

  6. What To Do With Keys and Remotes

Please hang the lockbox you were provided with upon move in on the front door and leave one key inside, then leave all of your remaining keys, garage door remotes, etc on the kitchen countertop. If you were not provided a lockbox upon move in and if you need a key to lock the house when departing, you are required to dispose that key.

  7. Securing and Vacating The Property

Vacate the property by noon on your lease end date.

Lock all exterior doors and windows then place the key inside of the lockbox when leaving.

Tenants are not permitted to be present during the move out inspection and are not allowed back in the property after your lease expires and/or you have surrendered the property.

Note, if you have not vacated by the time your lease ends, you will be charged daily at 3X the monthly rental rate.

  8. Receive Your Security Deposit

The security deposit refund check will be sent to the address you provided within 30 days of the surrender date.

If you have not received your refund within 45 days of your surrender date, please call 832-802-0848.
